uhh... the two-stroke invention came from Karl Benz (Germany) and the first viable version from a Scottish engineer (Clerk). Also, it's clearly just disingenuous to ignore the 100+ years of technological (read: scientific) progress that separates the two-stroke from Musk/Tesla.... and... of course, the electric engine predates the two-stroke.... and... electric cars were competitive with petrol (and steam) cars in the early 20th century... and... it was ultimately market economics that pushed Ford's petrol cars forward, simply because they were the cheaper alternative. In hindsight, that was a very bad "decision" of the market, which we're only now beginning to walk back.
