I bet many of these jobs could be semi-automated and gamified to make them much more tolerable—maybe even fun. For example, at Amazon, use some sort of tagging system on the boxes to virtualize the warehouse and boxes into some interesting "world" and set of "goals", translate the act of finding and picking up a box into some other game-world task/logic, then have gamers controlling players in the virtual world converted to drones fetching boxes in the real world.

Or something like that... should be possible... just a matter of Amazon giving up some $$$ to make their employees' lives less shit. Mind you, I guess that's a big ask for them... (of course, they would just say, "why even pay them at all, if it's fun?"... which is really where the deep fuckedness of late capitalist culture reveals itself.)
